Designed with a vibrant and captivating print by renowned Australian artist Kasey Rainbow, this backpack adds a touch of whimsy and joy to your child's day. It's specifically tailored for children under 8 years old, considering their unique requirements and comfort.

Featuring two generously sized zippered compartments, this backpack ensures efficient organization, allowing your child to carry everything they need effortlessly. Additionally, a convenient zippered front pocket provides quick access to smaller essentials.

Crafted from durable and highly water-resistant 600D polyester, this backpack is built to withstand daily wear and tear, while effectively safeguarding its contents. The fully lined interior boasts our exclusive 100% waterproof fabric, actively repelling dirt, mould, and odours for a clean and fresh experience every time.

Deep elasticated side pockets are thoughtfully incorporated, offering additional storage options for water bottles, snacks, or other items your child may need throughout the day.

We understand the importance of a comfortable fit, which is why our backpack features adjustable ergonomic padded straps. To provide added protection for delicate belongings, our backpack includes a padded base. Moreover, a padded carry handle offers convenience when lifting or carrying the bag, while a hanging hook allows for easy storage when not in use.

We've designed the zippers with your child in mind, ensuring they are kid-friendly and easy to operate independently.

How big are your backpacks and what size backpack should I buy?

We totally understand it can be tricky to buy some things online when size is important, particularly when buying for children. We have created this sizing guide to hopefully help you understand how our bags are measured and what is the best size for you to buy.

Bag measurements:

On each product page we provide the actual measurements of our bags:

How are our bags measured? The height and width of a backpack is measured using the back panel. The height is the measurement from the top of the bag to the bottom of the backpack, and the width is measured using the widest part at the back panel from left to right.

The depth of our backpacks is measured using the widest points of the backpack from front to back. For bags with multiple compartments (our school bags and midsize backpacks) the depth measurement includes all compartments when empty.

For our waterproof backpacks the depth is the actual size of the base of the backpack front to back as the front pocket is built into the main bag compartment.

TOP TIP:

Grab another backpack you have at home and measure the bag using our measuring framework provided above and compare it with our bag measurements to get a realistic idea about sizes.

Taking Care of One of the Best Kids Backpacks in Australia is Super Easy. Here are our top tips:

Carry the backpack with both straps – we know this sounds boring and one shoulder looks way cooler, however trust us your older self will thank you for this smart “uncool” decision. Tighten those shoulder straps baby! We know another “uncool” recommendation from the adults, however let’s work on a happy spine by carrying the bag higher and closer to your back and shoulders rather than swinging the load from side to side as you walk or run.

Don’t overload your backpack – if you can’t lift the backpack or easily close the zips you need another bag to share the load – hint, hint! Fact of the day: Did you know it is recommended children shouldn’t carry more than 10% of the body weight in a backpack? Carry the heaviest items in the pockets closest to your back and close to your waist and try to evenly distribute the load – why overload those gorgeous shoulders of yours, when you can make the backpack do the work for you?

Remember any food spillages from lunchboxes or unpackaged food left in your backpack for a long period of time can potentially make the backpack dirty and very smelly – if you forgot to give the teacher an apple today, pop it in the fridge overnight.

Trust us your backpack and the teacher will thank you tomorrow! When you aren’t out and about having the most amazing adventures with your backpack ensure you store your bag in a cool dry place and be sun smart by keeping it out of direct sunlight.

Do not store your backpack when it is wet – trust us you really won’t like the smell if you do, and we guarantee no amount of flowery spray will fix that smelly mould problem. We get it accidents happen.

If you need to spot clean your backpack, we advise you use a warm damp cloth and only use mild detergent. Now is not the time to try all the latest 101 best cleaning tips which popped up on your newsfeed earlier, so please do not bleach, tumble dry, dry clean, soak or iron your backpack.
